ii. Capers Community Market

Capers opened its first store on Marine Drive in West Vancouver more than 20 years ago, and was instrumental in laying the foundation for the growth of the organic and natural foods industry in Vancouver. Throughout the years, Capers was committed to supporting and nurturing sustainable agriculture, local artisans and small producers.

During this time, the Capers brand had gone through numerous logos and marketing materials, but never had the brand identity been completed. As the lead Graphic Designer on this project, we created a brand that was organic, modern and fuelled by the senses. The Capers Logo was freshened up and given new life with handdrawn fruit and vegetable illustrations, bold lettering and a tight colour palette.

These design elements were carried throughout the space in all wayfinding, graphic banners, vehicle wraps and marketing materials.

"We are thrilled to open our fourth and largest Vancouver store, which is our first new store in 11 years, and will initiate a period of expansion for Capers," said Kurstin Leith, director of operations for Capers Community Markets. "Our new beautifully designed store will bring the people of Vancouver a way of shopping that is a vibrant experience of the senses, as well as all the longstanding benefits that shoppers have come to trust from Capers"
